I am a graduate chemist, and after a few years in research after graduating, I have spent most of my life teaching. The first half of my career I taught Science and Chemistry, but for the second half, I switched to IT and Technology - a change is as good as a rest!
Having photographed wildlife as a hobby while teaching, it made sense when I retired in 2001 to make my old hobby a new career. Hence this website.
The main specialism of this collection is Ghana, its people and wildlife. I spent the years from 1967 to 1970 learning my trade as a science teacher at a secondary school in the Ghanaian coastal town of Winneba. In my spare time, I learnt my photography under ideal conditions - surrounded by novel subjects, seen with fresh eyes, and nothing much else to spend money and time on.
I have a daughter who has made her home in Dunedin, New Zealand. Regular visits have given me a familiarity with the wildlife of the Otago Peninsula which has resulted in another specialism of this collection.
